Abstract

This research examines the impact of Egyptian art with its three historical periods, Pharaonic, Coptic and Islamic, on Western arts since the Greek, Roman and Hellenistic periods, as a historical introduction to trace the impact of Egyptian art later on Western art and as a source of inspiration for many foreign artists and Orientalists from the seventeenth century to the twentieth century. The research also reviews the works of many European artists who were influenced by the abstract, symbolic, and the philosophy of Egyptian art and its mysticism nature, and all the factors and characteristics that led to inspiring the schools and trends of modern art until the abstraction that transcends simulated realism and frees creativity from the strict limitations of classical aesthetic standards that have limited the artistic creation for centuries in Europe.
